Use Social Media

In order to catch participant’s attention, the efficient usage of institution’s social media is vital.

• Encourage the use of predetermined Denim Day hashtags so that participants can tag their involvement.
• Ask participants to tweet and post support statements for survivors on Facebook.
• Find a local business who is willing to donate a dollar per supportive statement when someone posts to Facebook or Twitter.
• Use social media to make students aware of the services offered by the school to help if they are a survivor of sexual assault or know someone who is. These services might include: counseling, advocacy, a health center, nurse or campus security.
