Denim Day Photo Shoot
Wear jeans in support of survivors and gather for group or individual pictures. Create signs to show your support in the pictures! The persons of influence gallery has some great examples of how this can look.

Jean Decoration
Clean out your closet and decorate your old denim. Use your creativity to support survivors and ending sexual violence. Click here for some examples.

Denim Day Rally
Hold a rally in to show support and a unified community. Involve community leaders (e.g., small business owners, an alderperson, etc.) in hosting the event to show support. Display the decorated jeans at the rally.

Denim Day Pins
On Denim Day, ask participants to create their own “Ask Me Why I’m Wearing Jeans” pins. Have a button making station to allow individuals to create their own pin. Hold the event a few days before so that participants will have the pin to wear on Denim Day.

Letter to the Editor
Encourage participants to research how their community handles sexual assault reports. If there is need for change, write to the editor of the community newspaper and local media.

• Make sure that all proper research is done correctly to ensure legitimacy of the Op-Ed pieces.
• Encourage participants not to slander the community response in the piece, rather point out the areas where improvement is needed and that it is vital to the health and safety of the community.

Wear Jeans on Denim Day
Create a campaign for individuals to make a small donation to wear jeans on Denim Day. Donate the proceeds to local organizations providing services to survivors.

Put up Flyers in your Establishment

Decorate your Windows with a Denim Day Display
This could be a great way to show off the jeans you decorated, or you can use your creativity to create a unique display showing your commitment to ending sexual violence and supportive survivors.

Donate
Choose an item/items to sell during April and donate a percentage of the proceeds to local organizations providing services to survivors.
